About Andrew Warland Consulting

Our vision

We aim to help organisations manage records using Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online according to business and regulatory requirements, and international standards such as ISO 15489 and ISO 16175.

About the company

Andrew Warland Consulting was re-established in 2019 after seven years (when I worked full-time for other organisations) to meet the demand from organisations to understand how to approach the management of records in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. We do not sell Microsoft licences, do not represent or get any financial or other benefit from Microsoft or any third-party products or vendors, and do not do 'hands on' implementation activities. Our services are focussed on training and advisory support only.

Since 2019 we have provided training, advisory and project support for a wide range of Australian and international organisations including National/Federal, State and local government agencies (in several countries), and small to medium-size businesses. In almost all cases, the focus has been on helping organisations understanding how to configure Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online to manage records.

About Andrew Warland (Manager and Consultant)

Andrew Warland has worked with information and records for more than four decades. Until mid 2019 he worked for UnitingCare NSW/ACT (now Uniting) as the senior data and information architect and management of SharePoint, as well as being a Microsoft 365 Global Admin from 2016. He was a founding member of a Customer Advisory Board (CAB) established by the UK Information and Records Management Society (IRMS), the purpose of which has been to help influence the direction of the records management capabilities provided within the Microsoft 365 platform.

Prior to Uniting he worked for APRA for 6 months. From 2009 to late 2011 he was the Senior Systems Administrator at the City of Sydney implementing the digital recordkeeping strategy (and also working part-time as a consultant developing records disposal authorities and providing tutoring for Curtin University). He worked for Converga as their senior information management consultant from 1999 to 2009. From 1982, he worked for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in various roles.
